John Williams Movie Piano Solo

In the last month, I've purchased new music books for the piano students. One of the recent "treasures" is John Williams for Beginning Piano Solos, that the students are really loving. Hal Leonard called the book for Beginner, yet it's probably more of a late Elementary or Very Early Intermediate with my students, might be different for your studio. Some of the movies including are The War Horse, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, The BFG, E. T., Harry Potter and so many more themes. The students are really loving the songs they are working on. In fact have a student who taught herself how to play the Jurassic Park Theme without my help.

All of the songs are written in the key of C, with the accidentals. The chords are either 3rds, 4ths or 5th in the Bass Clef, which are great for students to learn more about chords. Will say that some of the 16th rhythms might take a bit for some of the students, yet it's not too complicated. Hal Leonard did an exceptional job putting favorite movie hits together and creating arrangement that make students feel successful. If you don't have this book in your collection, please consider it. Right now Star Wars, Jurassic Park and Harry Potter songs in the selection are very popular with our students. When I get a chance, want to create videos to share.

What are you doing to keep students motivated and help them succeed to their ultimate potential? Would enjoy hearing. Thanks for your support. Blessings.
