Student YouTubes
Last week I had two students who were able to make videos of music they are currently working. Hope you enjoy their progress. I'm so proud of my students and their efforts to try new concepts and share what they are learning with others. Brings joy to my heart. Here is Reina, one of my vocal students singing Home. So proud of her willingness to create a video. Takes so much courage. Keep singing Reina. This is a new piano student Eleanor, as we're working on black key notes.

Practice Video with Errors and Mistakes of Hungarian Rhapsody for Piano No. 2 Lassan Franz Liszt
I will be honest, I still have a long way to go, yet I'm trying. I'm being very vulnerable, which I need to be. What are you doing that's bigger than yourself? Would like to know. Thanks for your support. Blessings.

"Underserved Privileges"
The term underserved privilieges has been mentioned for several months and I've been able to reflect on these words more than ever. I've heard this term growing up and even as a business owner. Yet today I pondered on these words and the past opportunities presented, especially as a solo-prepriotore. It's very humbling. Over the 15 plus years of teaching through the studio, I've been blessed to "step" on the grounds of our local Air Force Base to play for an awards event, acc

Coaching and Teaching are Humbling. Perhaps we can learn from what not do due while watching Basketball
First of all, I'm not here to talk bad about Basketball, yet while watching a Celtics and Lakers game, I was not amused by the Lakers'"behaviors" of disrespecting the referees. Several of the giantic players we "approaching the referees", tattling on the Celtics. Now when I was watching, they were down by a lot of point and they were "heated". The referees were "taking the heated discussions" by being respectful, while the players were "fighting" those in charge, acting a bit

Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 For Piano by Liszt YouTubes Errors and Mistake
My entire family has been battling severe viruses for way too long and I missed teaching lessons and accompanying at the school the week of Valentine's Day. Had some ideas for that week for the students to work on, although it didn't happen. After returning to work this week, I've been playing "catch up". LOL. We're not 100%, yet getting there. This week I took a risk and did a "run through" of the Friska section from Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 by Liszt. I've had this song for
Student YouTube Performances
I'm so delighted when a student wants to make a YouTube video to share their progress. Check out these two awesome students who worked very hard on their selections. Adeliade has taking lessons for over a year plus and is making strides. Hope you enjoy her selection and how she introduces it. Exceptional job Adeliade. Keep playing. Aidyn is a newer student who is currently working on an arrangement of Zelda's Lullaby. Yet he's making so many incredible leaps and bounds. What

Winter Fun This Week
What a week and it's only Thursday with lessons. Each student is showing up with their willingness to try new Winter games, techniques, warm-ups, new music. In fact my students are teaching me new music. I told a student if I stop learning, stop taking lessons from me. Enjoy the pics and messages about each student. I'm beyond over the moon with their progress. This is Aidyn, who is working on a video game song. I'm so proud of his effort. Alyssa L really loves the song "Rewr

Two Other Summer Camps
This week was able to make a decision about the other camp location. So here are the next two Music and Theater Camps. Dig It is an original musical by John Jacobson and Roger Emerson about two kids who are archaeologists who befirends a skeleton that takes them on a journey through ancient history civilization. Check out the FB Event and please consider attending this fun camp. https://www.facebook.com/events/1377727353845656/?acontext=%7B%22event_action_history%22%3A[%7B%22

Flora and Ulysses Summer Play FB Link
At this point I have one theater company where I'm able to share about an upcoming Summer Camp of the play Flora and Ulysses. The book by Kate DiCamillo and the play created by John Glore is the story of a cynical girl processing her world, as her parents are divorced, both parents' writing careers on the brink of existence. She hears the words her dad's comic book state: "Do not hope, just observe". Flora befriends a squirrell who obtains superpowers while being vaccuumed up

May Peace Continue to Reign in Our World
This last week was "different", as my kids and I were sick all week with sinus issues. So we missed going to school, me accompanying and teaching lessons all week. Thankful for the rest during this week and so ready to teach lessons tomorrow and go back to school after Martin Luther King Jr Day today. Yet wanted to take a moment to share an improv of the song Let There Be Peace on Earth, created in California by a husband/wife team of composers. Jill-Jackson-Miller reached a
