Group Vocal Lesson "Bigger than Themselves"
The past several months have been extremely busy, playing for three choral music concerts, preparing for two school musicals, teaching lessons and preparing for an upcoming Halloween Studio Event, plus life.
I had five of my vocal students meet for 45 mintues and in that timeframe, we learned two-part harmonies of the Monster Mash by Bobby Pickett & Leonard Capizzi/arr. Greg Gilpin from Alfred Music. Here is the link: from J Pepper:
I was overwhelmed in the best way by their effort to learn just the harmonies. We sight-read the selection and then we sang it again a second time. The third time we made a video of them attempting to try something "bigger than themselves". I'm so proud of each of these students and their hard work, dedication, willingness to try. This brought joy to my heart. What an incredible blessing.
I'm beyond blessed by these students' effort to trust me. It's not about perfection; it's about opportunities to grow.
Plus after the video, they were able to listen to The 12 Days of Christmas by Straight No Chasers. This is one of the songs I'll teach them for Christmas.
What are you doing that's beyond yourself in the best way? Would like to know. Thanks for
