Melancholy Grief and Tears (A Lament) Piano Solo

Since the beginning of the year, I started this new composition that has delineated how I've felt for many years. We all go through seasons that make us feel grief, loneliness, blah. I'm learning it's ok to be there, yet know that it will get better in the future.

The late intermediate solo piece in G# minor is filled with arpeggios, a haunting melody that reflects feelings of loss, crying, tears, fears, yet with short spurts of moments of peace. We all struggle in life, yet it's a season. We will arrive towards a better end. The solo is written in 6/8, with a tempo marking of an eighth note equaling 80 bpm, plus G# minor, B Major, F# Major, plus various other chord inversions flowing throughout the solo. A pianissimo trill in the middle of the song shows the constant tears flowing. The end of the selection has the left hand crossing over, playing higher notes of the grievous melody. Plus, the finale is a rallentando playing one note as the left hand reaches over the right and ending with a G# minor 9th.

I hope that you enjoy this selection and perhaps you can perform and teach this selection. Here is the link to the song:

What are you creating that expresses your true feelings of life at the moment? Would like to know. Thanks for your support. Blessings.
