"Warm Summer Breeze Through the Trees" Piano Composition

  • 1 min read

I found one of several incomplete compositions on my laptop and decided to really focus on this song that I was able to complete yesterday. The premise of the piece came from taking walks, enjoying the breeze and watching how it affects the trees in such an elegant dance. I had a part of the song written a long time ago and was so grateful to have the time to finish the creation. I'm so overwhelmed in the best way.

This piece in the key of D Major takes you on a walk with me in the warm summer days, exploring the sights and sounds that only summer brings. The birds' melodious sonates, observing the vibrant colors in the sky, trees, flowers, breathing in the warm air. The first two lines of the composition are pianissimo, leading into mezzo piano, crescendoing towards a mezzo forte, slowly descending to a piano and pianissimo. The use of extra chords: C# Major, B Major and F# Major, allowing a bit of dissonance in a good way, as the wind can become stronger, passionate, forceful, yet will bring relief when it calms down. I implement arpeggios in the Bass Clef, to represent the flow of the breeze, with a melody of 6ths in the Treble Clef, providing serenity.

Plus been experimenting more with iMovie, which allows extra visuals for the piece. I'm still learning. Hope you enjoy the YouTube.

Here is the sheet music link.

What music are you creating and how is it helping you and your students to express their feelings, desires, longings, and observations? Thanks for your support. Blessings.
