Every summer I try to provide a Project, where students demonstrate music that might be popular, from Disney or movies, various decades, themes and so much more. Sometimes we might do a part of a play or short script, with the theme. This year was Movie and Broadway Music, where I had my online and in-person students perform separately.
Had students play piano solos of The Pink Panther, This Is Me, We Don't Talk About Bruno, The Circle of Life, Theme to Schindler's List, James Bond Theme, Pow Pow Pow Mr Incredible Theme plus more. I even play the Theme from Spider-Man Far From Home. My vocal students sang I Can Hear the Bells, I'm Still Standin', Waving Through a Window, What Was I Made For?, How Far I'll Go? Gaston and more. Yes, I cried in a good way, feeling overwhelmed in the best way possible, serving our community with music. The Project was magical.
Online Students did awesome.
In-person students did awesome.
First time Drake performed with the studio, plus played and sing at the same time. It made my heart soar, that he played the grand piano and sang a part of What Was I Made For? Blessed my heart so much.
First time MaKenna played. I'm so proud of her.
This was Kirsten's first time singing at a studio event. I'm so proud of her. Excellent job.
First time that I had enough students to sing 2 part harmonies.
Everyone had tons of fun singing this song.
Performing Do Re Mi has been a dream come true.
The Summer Project ended, yet the memories will last forever. Thanks to everyone who attended and participated. You totally made the Project a favorite. What is something you're doing with your students that made them soar? I would like to know. Thanks for your support. Blessings.
