The Show Must Go On- Snow White Lite Story

I know I say this way too much, yet I had an absolute blast doing this short camp. Everyone outdid themselves and rocked it at the camp. The camp started out with a game of improv and learning something about the person sitting next to them. We got lots of laughs. Then I said who wants to do what part and even after having two people want to be the same character, they picked out a number between 1-50 and whoever was close wins.
Back story before from yesterday. On July 23rd, I was deciding if I was going to do the show or not because the show needed a minimum, yet very quickly my Uncle Steve said that the show must go on. Plus people had already paid. "Let them learn about adapting, adjusting to having several parts". After a "quick wake-up call", the decision was made to move forward. There are times in a show where life happens and someone can't be there. The show must go on. After gathering every item I could, I set out today for the camp knowing that we would possibly have to double a part until a last-second text stated that another one was participating and I would be able to direct the show.
Snow White Lite was an incredible success. We all rehearsed the show three times before the audience of seven attended. Yet the audience laughed so hard with the lines, the kids and adults needed help with cues, when to come in and out, where the props went all 3 times, even at one point I got up on stage to help someone find their lines. This was a laid-back performance, so why not? In fact, one of the actors said in the middle of the show to the audience, "Mr Andrew, do you think we'll get a Tony Award for this?" The audience busted out in laughter. I don't see why not. Every kid and adult had their script, yet made the part so hilarious, everyone loved it. I'm overwhelmed in the best way. Thanks to every actor and actress who made the show go so well. What an honor to serve.
I wasn't able to take video of the show as it would have cost more, yet I truly hope we reflect on this time for years to come. Check out the pics.

What an incredible blessing to serve the community with theater, even as a short camp. Thanks Uncle Steve for your encouragement to move forward. All nine parts where filled up. What an incredible opportunity. Thanks. What are you doing that's "bigger than yourself"? I always like to know. Thanks for your support. Blessings.
