Last year I came across a play from Pioneer Drama in Colorado called Alice in Cyberland by Mark Landon Smith. The short play adaptation is based on Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. The modern adaptation about 25 minutes long is where Alice is "doing homework", yet becomes distracted by the work and decides to play a game of solitaire. She finds herself in Cyberland, where she meets various characters: White Rabbit, Cheshire Cat, Caterpillar, Duchess, Mad Hatter/March Hare, and The Queen of Hearts. The plot centers around Alice trying to get control of her computer, that she believes has been hacked. The "friends" are not beneficial to her journey in Cyberland, yet some of the characters provide comic relief. Don't want to spoil the play, yet Alice meets the Queen of Hearts, who puts Alice on trial for "taking her password".
So this summer I'm doing the online show with many of my students, including one of my male students who is playing Alec (instead of Alice). None of my female students "felt like they could play such an iconic character". With permission from Pioneer Drama, my male student will play the lead role.
Here is the FB link to the play, where I would love to have a live audience on July 1, 2024, at 4 pm CST. As it gets closer I'll create a Zoom link for those interested in attending the online play.

What are you doing that is "stretching you" in theater in a good way? Would like to know. Thanks for your support. Blessings.
