My Cup Overflows with Joy
The past two weeks I've been blessed to get back into the school system as an accompanist after a year of not being able too play since last March of 2020. I jumped right at the opportunity to serve our school district. What a blessing to help a local school as they prepare for an upcoming in-person concert. In fact most of the students have been only been in school for over 2-3 months. So putting together a "program" has been a dream for the teacher that I'm working for. M

A Cover Is Not a Book
Over the past year I've become more of a Mary Poppin's fan, from the books to the Disney films. Love the story lines, actors, sets, costuming, props, the cartoon sequences and of course I love the music. The Sherman Brothers really outdid themselves with such popular music in the original film and with the one in 2018. The music really gets me moving. A student shared her desire to learn A Cover Is Not a Book, with lyrics from the stories based on Pamela Traver's popular seri

Small Business Events the Next Two Weekends
This Saturday and next Saturday, I'll be attending two Small Business Events where Potentials Music will be represented. I'm excited and a bit nervous about the opportunity, yet believing great things will happen. The first one is from the Barnyard Play Center, where local small businesses will have tables outside of a small shopping strip, allowing us to share about our business and pass out candy. If you are the Wichita area, please consider checking it out. Here's the link

Erik Satie Gymnopedies Number 1
I have to admit that I had not heard of Erik Satie until the last 3 months. A student of mine shared about wanting to learn the song Gymnopedies and I was so impressed by the way the song was written. I did some quick research from a children's book called Strange Mr Satie, by M. T Anderson, which shares about his life choices of not bathing, wearing the same type of colored clothes, severe anger issues, hording and clutter. Plus while he studied music at school, he was kicke

Here is the flier for an outdoor Music Theater Camp. If you or you know of anyone who would want to attend, please let me know. I'm delighted to get back to theaters camps, which will be tons of fun. If you have any questions, please call, text or email me. Thanks for your support. Blessings.

How Beautiful
Many years ago a worship song called How Beautiful by Twila Paris really stuck with me. The song shares about the journey of Jesus' last days of His earthly life from sharing the Lord's Supper to ascending to heaven. This song has always got me. This week out church did a Maundy Thursday Drama event, where How Beautiful was sang and played. Hearing this song, made me decide that is the Easter song I want to share this season. I hope you like the arrangement I created from a l

Dig It Outdoor Music Theater Summer Camp
I'm currently working on a flier for an outdoor summer music theater camp for kids from 3rd-8th Grade called Dig It. The musical focuses on early world history of Greece, Rome, Egypt and other cultures. From acting, singing and dancing, those who attend will have tons of fun. Keep an eye out for the flier. Thanks for your support. Blessings.
