This Saturday, July 29th is the studio event called Celebrating Musicals and Movie Music. The students have been working very hard to prepare for the event, playing and singing music from movies and musicals. We have music from the Greatest Showman, Charlie and Chocolate Factory Broadway, Newsies, Disney songs, '50s surfing hits, Rocky Theme, Inspector Gadget, Star Wars, new Spider Man series music and so much more.
Several years ago I realized that the word Recital causes anxiety, so I call them Events. Which has reduced the anxiety levels more for the students and parents.
While I prepare for the count down, I need to make sure that everything is completed. Including students ready to demonstrate what they have learned, create a "skeleton" program and send it off to my buddy who helps create the best programs and power points. Making sure my team helping out with lights/sound/power point/zoom know what they are supposed to accomplish. Email zoom link and final program for the online students, contact those who are providing treats afterwards, setting up the projector for the online students. Plus make sure that I'm prepared mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually, know my music well to play and sing.
As the check list descends, I need to make sure that every last detail is ready. The phrase our pastor shares is many hands make light work. I'm so thankful for every behind the scenes individual who make these events so successful. They are willing to take time out of their busy schedule to serve the studio, students, parents/guardians. I'm truly blessed beyond measure with all the help that occurs.
What are you planning do you have for the rest of the summer with your students? Are you doing an event? What team members do you have that supports and provides for your studio? Would like to know. Thanks for your support. Blessings.
